Lea and Cecile Hit the Beach

The weather was so beautiful today that Cecile decided to visit one of her best new friends, Lea, at the Bahia Berry stand that she works at on the beach.

Lea is a star employee at Bahia Berry and makes the most delicious smoothies and acai berry bowls. All of the locals and tourists alike enjoy her pleasant customer service and charming smile.  She's always there to greet her customers with a wave and a friendly "hello". 

...and that's exactly what she did when she saw Cecile had surprised her with a visit. 

Cecile loved the beach and traveled there often. Especially when she had a whole afternoon to do nothing but soak up the sun, take a kayak or boogie board out, or go for a swim! 

One of her favorite parts about visiting this beach though? ...the yummiest treats you could imagine... made by her good friend Lea. Not to mention that the fruit is always fresh and full of flavor, like it was harvested that day! 

Sometimes, Cecile will even take her new kayak out into the crystal clear waters. She could easily be gone for hours admiring the dolphins swimming nearby. 

She's an "outdoors girl" at heart, and no adventure is too big! 

Plus, being in the sun makes her happy. There's no place she'd rather be than either on the sand or in the water. 

Lea loves it when Cecile comes to her beach, because she enjoys taking out her kayak too! Kayaking with a friend is always more fun. 

If business is slow that day, she'll hang a sign on the window and go play with Cecile in the gorgeous water. 

Lea is fairly new to this kayaking thing, but oh how she enjoys it! 

Surfing too? Yep! Lea's first love, as far as water sports goes.  She got her first surf board a few years ago and has now become a very talented, self-taught, surfer girl.  She's even competed in a few local surf competitions and placed well! 

Ah, this is the life. The sand, the sun...and the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico! 

"Come on Cecile!" Grab your boogie-board and let's hit the surf! 

The two gals spent some time on their boards before heading back to the dock for a break. 

"Oh look! A Sea turtle and it's baby! Sooooo cute", said Lea.

The girls grabbed a light snack from the Bahia Berry stand, and a few drinks. All that water play can be exhausting! "Let's just relax for a few minutes", said Cecile. 

After finishing up their guava and mango juice, they grabbed their life-jackets which they had forgotten earlier, safety first! Lea laughed and grabbed a funny, yet somehow cute swim cap so her hair wouldn't get in her face with the wind and they would soon be off to play in the water one more time. 

Rebecca's and Destiny's Winter Excursion

 

When we woke up this morning, here in the pacific northwest, we discovered that it had been snowing most of the night! First snow of the season! So exciting.

Rebecca and Destiny wasted no time getting dressed for a day of fun outside in the snow.  Destiny even got to wear one of her new outfits she had gotten this weekend.  Who doesn't love sparkly shoes in the snow?!

Rebecca probably could have dressed a little warmer, but she really wanted to wear this knit poncho with a scarf she borrowed from a friend.  It was so windy out! She instantly regretted not putting her hair in a hat.

The two of them walked along the forts at the beach, and played around in what snow was left.  It was a lovely day for being at the beach, other than it was so windy.  

 Rebecca soaked up the sun as she wandered around the area.  The sun on her face warmed her up nice despite the chilly conditions.

Destiny was very thankful she had her ear-muffs on!

At the beach, they watched the waves crash against the pilings of the dock and just enjoyed each others company.

 They took a walk down the pier as well. It was so pretty because it was covered with a light dusting of snow. Good thing Rebecca remembered to wear her good boots!

Well, even though the wind was pretty rough, it still made for a really nice day out at the beach! Maybe next time it snows, there will be enough to make a snow angel with!
